Hi, I was recently accepted for the spring semester and I would like advice as to my plans for the fall semester (If I do choose Berkeley). I was also accepted to UCLA, and right now Berkeley and UCLA are my top choices.

I am interested in pursuing finance, which I know is much stronger at Berkeley. I would do the pre-business/economics major at UCLA if I went there. However, I was wondering whether the FPF program would be better than attending a local community college in the fall. The main thing that attracts me to FPF (in addition to being able to be on campus, join clubs, etc) is that the classes go directly to your GPA. From my understanding, FPF classes are generally easier than Cal courses. So I could have one solid semester of grades and only have three more before applying to Haas. I know that there is much more necessary to Haas including internships and ECs, which is why FPF is that much more attractive.

However, I have a relatively high-paying job right now. In addition to not spending anything on housing and the FPF program, I would be saving money for the rest of college. I am concerned, however, that my chances at Haas would be at a disadvantage if I took classes at a cc versus through FPF. If classes are verified to transfer through ASSIST, would my GPA look any different than it would if i attended FPF instead?

I appreciate any help. I am also talking to UCLA and Berkeley grads, participating in the online chat session for FPF, and attending Cal day on April 20th. Any more ideas on UCLA vs Berkeley would also be appreciated.
