spring fraternity rush

Hey does anyone know what the deal is with spring fraternity rush? I've heard that a few usually offer it but I'm assuming it depends on their numbers for the fall.

There is no fall pledges for freshman. Rush for freshman lasts all fall. You should know whom is going to offer you by Thanksgiving. You cant pledge until spring semester. Fall pledges are for rising soph and juniors, who dont join a fraternity in the previous spring. Numbers arent usually a problem like it is for sororities and quotas. I believe the avg pledge class size is around 17 to 20 in the spring and 4 to 5 in the fall.

The average pledge class is 15-17. The only fraternities that take pledges in the fall aren't really fraternities in the traditional sense of the word, more like clubs.

Really? I had heard that many fraternities had rush in the spring for freshmen who could then pledge the fall of their sophomore year. I dropped out of rush because the places I was rushing ended up not really being for me but I was planning on rushing some other fraternities in the spring.
