Spring or Fall?

I am enrolled at a four year university and was wondering if it would be easier to transfer for the spring or for the fall? I’m currently in Business Undecided and am taking Macroeconomics, Calc, Gov, Comp 1, and Communication. I had a 3.95 in high school (don’t know if that matters) and was averagely involved. Also, if I was accepted in the spring could I defer to fall if I chose to? I am planning to apply to McCommbs and then to COLA as my second choice

McCombs only accepts Fall transfers. If you want COLA, you could try to transfer in the Spring. But, don’t do that if you are dead set on McCombs. You would then need 30 hours at UT to be eligible to internally transfer into McCombs, and again that would have to be for Fall. They do not make it easy!

Would it be easier to transfer to McCombs or COLA? I don’t want to have to repeat any classes i have taken, but i am very determined to go to UT.

I am currently enrolled as a freshman in:
Calc 1
Macro Econ
Communications
Comp 1
Government

I am on track to making A’s in all of those classes. and next semester i plan to take similar courses

@lots2do

COLA is much easier to transfer into. Econ is a good major in COLA that is popular with students that like Business.
IF you make all A’s this semester, and you take Calc 2 and Micro among others second semester with good grades, you could submit for Fall transfer - McCombs first choice, Cola second choice.

Check the McCombs External Transfer requirements to make sure you are not missing anything. The Calc and Econ classes are required. Good Luck!

@lots2do What credits would I need for Econ in Cola? Would I have a better chance in getting in if I applied through that?

Try the UT forum - search prior threads on transfers. You should check the UT site for COLA Econ requirements. I am more familiar with the McCombs requirements. COLA may be a minimum number of hours and based on GPA. But it is known to be easier to transfer into than McCombs.

@lots2do yeah i just checked and wouldn’t have the requirements to transfer into cola but I think McCombs may be too competitive…what would i need to have the best shot to get into McCombs?
