Spring Transfer

I am applying for USC to be a Spring transfer, I have a 3.6 and am involved in a few clubs, The Honors Society/Program, I also work part time. Are my chances any better for applying in the spring than applying in the fall?

I don’t believe there’s a way to specifically be considered for spring admission. I know that some schools (like CSULB) allow you to apply for the spring semester, but that’s not currently an option at USC. You just apply for regular fall admission and you might end up as a spring admit. It’s not usually something that every students wants (I sure wasn’t happy about it), so maybe you can indicate your interest another way? Perhaps you can slip it into your personal essay/additional info, but you’d need a legitimate reason why the fall semester wouldn’t work for you. For me, I wasn’t really happy about being a spring admit because there was absolutely nothing else I could do at the CC level. I could have taken a level III Spanish course to complete my foreign language requirement, but I already had 100 units and financial aid wouldn’t cover the cost of the class, so I just did nothing my fall semester but lounge around the house.

Anyway, yeah, USC does not offer accept applications for the spring, specifically.

And at 3.6, you’re slightly under the transfer average of 3.7, but not by much. I’d say you’re competitive.
