For those applicants who scored poorly and want to score higher or take it again do the flew test ASAP. If you take the test by the end of the month, most boarding schools including most of the GLADCHEMMS, will accept your scores. So for those applicants who want to score higher, here are the instructions.

Check this lis to find consultants near you
SSAT - Taking the SSAT: Testing with Educational Consultants

Call the consultant and ask for certain days and times to take the test

Follow the instructions the consultant gives you about registering at their location

I did this in December so I have experience with this. It is really useful and for those applicants looking for one more shot, this is what you should do.

I agree. I took the flex test this year and my score went up by 12 percentiles.

I agree that flex testing is great. There are no other kids taking it so no distractions and you don’t have to get up early; you can take it in the afternoon.

BUT it is not available everywhere. Some families would have to drive over three hours just to get to a consultant (areas without private schools don’t have many consultants). Also, it can coat over 500.00 with all the extra fees incurred from both ssat and consultant. For families needing FA to begin with, that can put it out of reach.

But hey, if you have the money to buy that advantage, go for it.

This is one of the reasons i so strongly dislike standardized tests like SSAT, SAT, etc. The tests can be gamed by those with the knowledge and resources to do so. It’s not in the best interests of most students and just lines the pockets of the testing services and others.
