St Andrews in Scotland

is anyone here applying to this school or familiar with the application process?? i have some questions.

If you're an American applying, I have a friend there who might be able to answer your questions. Her sn's Cla23ire. Tell her you're a friend of Cindy's so she's not so freaked out.

thanks, are you sure it won't be strange just talking to her- i feel wierd. does she ever come on here?

No, she doesn't come on here. But she's seriously the nicest person I know, and she' extremely friendly.

Has anyone been offered a place here and are you considering it? also, if any of you go here some info would be great!

I just got admitted to St. Andrews last week. I might go, depends where else I get into.
I applied though UCAS (admissions service) to 6 different schools, admitted more or less on basis of AP exams.

What exactly do you want to know?

I Never Got Into St.andrews
I Didnt Even Apply

I Am Only A Freshman
Why Apply??
Wait.. I Cant

I have an offer from St Andrews, and I have no idea whether I will take it or not. It depends on what other unis accept me, and also on money. What do you guys think about St Andrews? Would you say this is a very prestigious university, and one of the best in the world?

It is most definitely a very prestigious unviersity, but one of the best?
I wouldn't put it among the top, but I think it compares pretty well to the lower end of the top 25 in the US.

Personally, I'm going to attend St. Andrews unless UCL accepts me (pending). I have the feeling I would enjoy it there very much.

My niece is graduating this June from St. Andrews. Originally, she thought she would stay for two years and then transfer back to US but she loved it so much she stayed. I'm no expert but I know that their teaching system was very different from most American schools. She had lots of small seminar type classes. Students were serious about coming to class prepared. Was able to do internships in London. Never had anything bad to say.

I'd like to know how it differs from an American university. I hear there is a big american population at the school which is good. I'd also like to know about the town, the social aspect and what classes are like. thanks

Prince William goes there ;)
