What do you need to have to get into the Physician Assistant program in St Johns? Do you need a specific elective? Do they look at CTE majors? And what does your SAT score have to be? Do you need to volunteer at hospitals? My current average is a 90. I'm trying to bump it up to a 93. Is that good enough for St. Johns?

What do you guys recommend I can possibly do? I’m trying to shadow some internships at 2 or maybe 3 hospitals?

If you’re too scared to call the college and ask, like I recommended on your other thread, then maybe you’re really not cut out to be a physician assistant.

Are you looking at the 5 year program? The website can give you specific information about their program.

In general, PA programs are very difficult and fulltime (a question you asked on another thread). A lot of biology and chemistry courses, as well as anatomy, genetics, and other sciences.

To up your chances for admissions, you might want to volunteer in a nursing home or clinic (maybe a blood collection site?) on a steady basis this summer and fall, in addition to shadowing a number of PA’s in different settings (ER, family med, orthopedices, etc) to get an idea of what specialty you’d prefer. To enter the graduate phase of the program, you need to have accumulated several hundred hours of patient contact experience, and volunteering while still in high school will help you accumulate those documented hours.
