Im sorry.....
Ive hated the st. louis cardinals since they swept the dbacks in 2002 in 3 games... they beat by moer than 10 in all three games

How a team can win the WS with 83 wins in a season amazes me...... i hate to say this... but i feel that detroit handed it to them..... Congrats to them tho... im not trying to take anything away from their wsc

Detroit didn't play their best. The Cardinals regular season record, though, was deceptive. They started off gangbusters, then were plagued with major injuries to Pujols, Rolen, Edmonds, and a lot of their pitching staff. Just so happened that after they limped to the end of the season, everybody was just coming back healthy..and played that way. It isn't though, as if a mediocre team won it all--it's a team with a mediocre regular season record won it all.

One of the earliest lessons my dad taught me about perspective came through baseball. My brother and I were moping around the family room devastated, as the Cardinals had lost a big game. He pointed out that as sad as we were, there were kids our age in that other city absolutely ecstatic about the victory--which is the difference perspective can make! It's actually turned out to be helpful advice in all aspects of life.

GO CARDS!!! I was lucky enough (and unfortunately, am old enough!) to have been at game 7 when the Cards won the '82 World Series. It was an amazing night that I'll never forget. I'm happy for all the fans that were able to be at last night's game and experience that feeling with family and/or friends.
And for those Cardinal fans far from home (perhaps even overseas in Iraq or Afghanistan), what a way to feel connected to their hometown, and fellow Cardinal fans, again.
