<p>I remember reading an announcement earlier this year begging alumni to donate because the amount of alumni that donate affect the USNWR ranking. </p>

<p>In addition to amount of alumni giving, a lower acceptance rate also positively affects the USNR rankings. The other way of saying lower acceptance rate is a higher rejection rate.</p>
