Updating the status of the SPSCC group, I show 8 accepted (23%); 14 Waitlisted and 13 not admitted. Pretty good stats!!

Here is the updated list for those accepted or waitlisted. To the extent I know gender or other school info for the accepted applicants I have included it. In a few cases several family members have user names. If I missed anyone or got the facts wrong, let me know or post the real fact(s).

Used to do pre-season in Boca Raton with the SPS lax team several decades ago - great guys. Son was admitted as a Third Former and is extremely pleased with the news. Lacrosse is his favorite sport. What can you share about the team? Are they tight? High skill level? Rapport with coaches? Student support? Thanks!

Last year apparently didnāt go so well. But what from what Iāve personally observed I can say that the attitude is very good this year and there is a considerable amount of talent. Talent that will, for the majority, be returning next year as well (the entire defense + goalie and many starting attack). With some consistent hard work we could really turn some heads this year and do even better the next.

Hi, Iām a current III Former at SPS, and I would be glad to answer any questions or concerns anyone has about the school.

I know I am only in my first year at SPS and other current students have already offered to talk with you all about the school. However, I just want to make it known that I am one more student who is willing to share their thoughts and opinions on various aspects of St. Paulās life.

Sorry, hahascrub, I was not sure. Soā¦ that means you have to go to SPS. tell your parents the vacations are the same and itās only 45 minutes away. ;)

Anyone have any questions about revisit days, classes, dorms or anything? SPS is still on break so now is a great time to get answers from students.

Iām not sureā¦ it is probably enclosed in your acceptance package, isnāt it? I remember last year the first night there was dinner, then a club fair, then a talent show, followed by a Rectory open house with your parents. On the second day you went around to classes with your host. But all the details should have been given to you.

I didnāt apply to SPS. I was just curious how SPS revisit day activities compare with other schools. Looks like most schools have only one day schedule.

SPS does have a 2-day revisit program. The first day is 4 to about 8:30 PM, then the second day is 8 to about 2:30ā¦I donāt have the info sheet with me.

I didnāt pursue any further since my first inquiry here. IIRC, some kids from CC did stay over last year (or year before) by just asking during the first evening programā¦but it was on a very āunofficialā basis.

If I were a prospective admitted student, I know I would want this sort of opportunity. Pulsar, do you know if the schools you got into offer an overnight as part of revisit?

I canāt speak with certainty, but I would be very surprised if they let accepted students sleep in the dorms during revisits. It is a school night and there are 3 revisits so a bit of a distraction for current students.

7Dad, Overnight stay is not part of the revisit program at Deerfield and Hotchkiss. I didnāt request such stay though it sounds like a great way to experience the boarding aspect in addition to the classroom experience.

Winterset - Thank you for organizing this group so well, in every way. Your words to all accepted, waitlisted, and rejected have been āspot onā.

Just catching up on reading the past few pages of this thread, and had to laugh about the mention of the fruit/bagel offerings throughout the day at SPS - that had really impressed my daughter during our tour, and only added to her very favorable impression of the school!

She is absolutely THRILLED by her acceptance to SPS - she has loved the whole aura of the school for the past few years Indeed, I had been nervous about just how much she felt she ābelongedā at SPS due to the very real possibility that every applicant faced of not being accepted. We do not live in the northeast, so are not sure we will do re-visit days - they would be narrowed down to just two schools, SPS and Groton. She is very confident that she is sure of what she wants, and as much as it would be educational to re-visit these 2 schools, it doesnāt seem necessary to fly north on 2 separate sets of dates - wish we lived in driving distanceā¦

So, with that being said, she is fully committed to being a PELICAN!!!

^^^Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! I could not be happier for her, and she is SO excited for the next four years. Her watch is now sporting a red wristband, and the St. Paulās crest is her computerās screensaver :)
