Does SPS have block scheduling? I couldn’t locate a daily schedule in SPS website.

^^ bump! 10 ch

SharingGift - I would say that SPSs scheduling is fairly traditional although a bit of a hybrid. Most classes are shorter length but blocks are built in for humanities and science labs.

Thanks creative1. I’m guessing a longer block is need for humanities because it covers multiple subjects in one session?

Yes, humanities counts as 2 courses - what used to be called “English” and “History”.

Does anybody know if the new yearbook comes out? I think I should get it by now, but it wasn’t delivered yet.

AHockeyDad - All the students got the 2012-13 yearbook before school got out in the Spring. Did you order one specifically for yourself?

creative1 - I didn’t order one separately. It was mailed to us in the past and I was not aware that my S got one in the spring.

creative1 - I am sorry I was confused. I meant Annual report and the record.

My recollection is that it usually arrives in January or February.

Thanks, creative 1. I thought I used to get it by this time of the year.

how hard is it to get into SPSBC? what level are the dancers and how selective is the program? how many audition for it, and does anyone know the ballet class schedule for SPSBC?

People who are in the Intermediate Ballet class and above are eligible to audition for SPSBC. It’s a year-long commitment and counts as a varsity sport, so if you’re in the BC you can’t do any other sports.

@friendlymom do you have a child in the BC? what kind of level is the Intermediate ballet class/advanced ballet class? how many audition, and how many are in the company? is there a uniform or can you wear any leotard? is it all en pointe? do you know a schedule

and does anyone know the percentage admittance for an international candidate for spa?

i mean SPS

Hi there, I don’t have a child in the BC but she’s taken ballet and has friends in the BC. You should definitely get in touch with Jennifer Howard, who is the dance director. She can give you some great information about the dance program in general and SPSBC in particular.

I’ve posted this before but will do it again - if you want to see pictures of SPS in action, the best way to do it is to “Like” the St. Paul’s School Admissions Office page on Facebook. They just posted some new photos of kids hanging out at the Rectory on Saturday night, and one of pond hockey.

Hi Im applying to SPS this year and was wondering how many classes most people take? Can you take more?

Hi, I’m a 5th former at SPS. Most people take 5 classes per term, although some take 6 or 4. You can take more if you want to, although as a 3rd former you’ll probably be told to take it easy and just take 4 or 5.
