Hi everyone, I’m bumping for 2014 decisions. If you have any SPS questions feel free to post them here, or please PM me and I’ll do my best to help. Good luck everyone!

(Calling all incoming 3rd Formers!)
What math/arts/language classes are you guys taking?
I’ll be joining the SPS community this fall, and I was just wondering.

does anyone know if it is possible to take the mandatory humanities course as well as one of the options (not sure about the name but they’re single credit and last a semester), or can only sixth formers take them?

I think only sixth formers can do that.

Depending on how you build your schedule, it’s possible as a fifth former, but close to impossible earlier.

You’re permitted to take them as a 4th former (sophomore) if you get an HH in Humanities III, but priority for getting in to the classes goes to 6th formers first.

for admit day is it more common to wear a skirt with tights or without tights (at this time of year)?

Depends on what you’re comfortable with. You’ll be a little chilly in the morning, but I would go without tights, just remember to bring a sweater.

I am wearing tights tomorrow

does anyone know when we find out our roommates and courses etc?

I would guess sometime in August with the final information packets, about a month before school starts.

Around the end of July/beginning of August the online directory will be updated and you’ll find out what dorm you’re in (and who else is in there). Soon after that you’ll find out your roommate. You get your course schedule when you arrive at school. If you feel like you’ve been placed in the wrong math or language class level you can sort that out at that point.

August 1

August 1 you can look online. Sign in parents portal will give you housing info. With roommate name phone# and house.

Hello, I’ve just received all of my housing information! I’m in Kittredge III. Does anyone know what that dorm is like? What are the rooms like? Bathrooms? What sort of reputation does it have, if any? How good is it’s location? Etc. Thanks!!!

Just read this news today about SPS:

@ckdancer - Kitt 3 is part of a building which contains 3 student houses - Kitt 2 & 3 are for girls and Kitt 1 is for boys. The Kitt houses have some of the smaller rooms on campus but they are very centrally located with easy access to the Upper (dining hall), library, chapel, post office, and classroom buildings. Reputations of dorms vary year to year depending on the mix of students each year. Good luck with your first year at SPS!

@hogsark - Yes, very unfortunate news and not good PR for the school, although I would say that some of the details in the articles are questionable in their description of the campus “traditions”. I’m not going to comment on it other than to say that such instances are, unfortunately, far too common in our society and in many high schools and colleges (and I am glad the issue of sexual assault/rape is getting some focus in our society finally!), but does not reflect typical SPS students or experiences. I do commend the SPS administration for their reporting of the incident and their cooperation with policing authorities, as they should. I am sure it will be an area that will get much focus and reflection in the coming year(s). My respect goes out to the girl and family in question for bringing the incident forward.

@ckdancer One of my best friends was in Kitt 3 last year and loved it. It’s a smaller dorm with less girls than other dorms, so everyone gets really close. I’ll be in Kitt 2 next year. Kitt has a great location; it’s in the middle of campus, so it’s easy to get everywhere.

Can any of you please provide me some fun facts/ special stories about St.Paul please.
For example, you have any mascot? Any unique stories about students’ lives? Please comment and help me out.
