St. Paul's School Concord NH

The dorm and advisor information should be listed under Resources>Housing or Resources>DeanofStudents>Housing. From Directory>Faculty/Staff you can look up the advisor’s email. In that section there is also a link to the pdf that lists the house advisors.

Looking back, we did not receive any emails from the head or advisor prior to arriving on campus. My son did, however, receive calls from his dorm prefects and I received a call from a fellow parent. I believe those calls came either this week or next, just before arrival.

My kid received a call from a dorm prefect. That’s the only thing we got so far.

We received an email from the dorm head last week. As far as I remember, in prior years too. I’ve also never heard of rooms without windows. Just email the dorm head.

It’s almost time! We are getting as much family time in as we can this week before we take the boys to SPS. Today, our 2 college sons are joining us for lunch and a game at “Countdown Games” which is a kind of escape game thing. The next time we will all be together is Thanksgiving. My husband and I are both struggling a little bit. One of the boys did something we were disappointed in this week (very minor) and I believe we may have overreacted a bit because of our own feelings and worries about them going away. Anyway, I’m sure we have all been there. So many mixed feelings - excitement, fear, worry…

a big step and, when looking back, a precious moment.

Wishing all SPS students, new and returning, a wonderful year of growth! To all the parents, hang in there. Your relationship with your children will change as will your life, too. It’ll be different and in some ways, better. You remain their parents and you retain the right to continue to parent them so keep those communication channels open even if they are no longer sleeping under your roof every night. And send care packages and cards! Every student loves getting mail.

Emotions will run high these days, @KentuckyMomma, both for parents and kids. You’re doing the right thing having as much quality time with them as you can. Once at school, they’ll probably miss you much less than you’ll miss them… Hugs!

Are there closets in the dorms at Middle House? Also is it better to pre-order the textbooks or to order them online on your own?

Rooms with no windows => sounds like overflow housing. Is it a big class?

"Are there closets in the dorms at Middle House? "

Yes.

There are no dorm rooms without windows. I’m 99.9999% sure of that so let’s nip that rumor in the bud. If someone has proof otherwise, I’d love to see it.

If there ever is “overflow housing”, they just convert a few of the larder doubles to triples. SPS tries to carefully manage its admissions numbers because the biggest quandry is having a chapel seat for every student. There are only so many seats in chapel and chapel is an integral part of the school.

It’s too late to pre-order now. The deadline was Aug. 20. You can buy all books (new, used, or rent) from the SPS bookstore when you get there. On the previous page there are several links you may want to check out.

Actually, despite the deadline, I was able to order books last week. I called and they said “No guarantees, but it shouldn’t be a problem.” So…you might try calling tomorrow…

I’m excited guys.I’m leaving tommorow! Thanks for all the feedback you all gave, have a great year!

Have a great year, @OctoBug22!

Best wishes for a great year, @OctoBug22! The campus yesterday was gorgeous, everyone ready to welcome the new students (and welcome back the returning students, too)!

I see TheCube has been acquired by the High School Sports Network. SPS doesn’t appear to be affiliated. Has anyone heard whether the school has made other arrangements for broadcasting games?

I was just able to add SPS and follow it on the new NSSN app. It seems though that, unlike TheCube, the new app requires monthly subscription to be able to watch live games? I hope I’m misunderstanding something.

Apparenly there is a code that the school can provide to watch for free. I’ve just emailed Mr. Muther to ask how it’s gonna work, and will let you know.

What did you search for on NSSN? I looked up St. Paul’s School but it wasn’t there…
