Hmm…where have the “rumors” come from. Is there some sort of article or something.

No nothing that solid. Just the normal rumors everywhere at this time of year (Groton Vs SPS thread). I talked to the head of placement on Friday. He was not worried, except about a few kids, but that is true every year. And they too will go to good schools. Not a problem, unless it is you (or your parents).

POOF GONE!!

My son and wife had a great revisit today at SPS. SPS did a great job, and my family goes back tomorrow morning at 7:30a for a bit before heading off to Groton for an evening revisit.

And thats why you’re not the Harvard admin

Great looking LAX team this year…

Glad the revisit went well. Good luck on making the decision!

We will be safe ;)

One of yesterday’s Reports in chapel:
Debate Award — Last week Dan Thompson traveled to England to represent St. Paul’s at the World Junior Debate and Public speaking competition. In this event, he competed against 150 of the most loquacious and (at times) verbally combative students in the English speaking world. Dan took 6th place in debate and 13th overall in the tournament, playing a key role in the United States’ eventual triumph over Canada.

Oh and he is a nice guy too.

haha it didn’t go exactly like that, but something along the lines of it ;)

hi
sps is cool

SPS is a great school I love the outdoor hockey rink haha. New user I just found this site!

I’ve taken the full month to decide, but I’m so excited - I’m going to be a Paulie! GoBigRed! I’ve been up all night - couldn’t sleep. I am so glad to have a final decision, but at the same time, a little scared it’s the right one. But while I haven’t posted much on this thread, reading it has helped in the process!

Congratulations Linds!

SPS is obviously the better Big Red! coughexetercough :D

Good Job Linds! You made the right decision.

On another topic, I have my own ideas why Ivy college matriculation has dropped a bit at some schools where there was normally a high Ivy rate.

Please share your theory Sarum. Have you heard actually numbers for St. Paul’s?

No I haven’t. I’m not an authority, but I believe it will not last.

Do you think it will improve by 2013?

I know it will improve. I can’t comment further because I am subjectively involved now:)

Wife, daughter and I are heading up to SPS for an Easter Brunch with our son and a Sunday service in the old chapel. Gather the ice has melted, but daffodils not out yet!

Linds819: Congrats on the decision!

Archetype: Two indoor rinks too. But if you get ‘black ice’ that is really fun.

When I hear college results I will post them. But rumors are cheap at this point! And even then it can get confusing. Like I said Harvard accepted five SPS students last year and only one accepted their offer! There are always bound to be lots of disappointed kids, the process can be random, and the waitlists are a bit funky this year BUT ask and you may find that they wanted Yale and are going to Penn (or whatever).

Oh… this silly thread now has an incredible 45,000 views in just nine months!!!

Class of 09 is the biggest to apply to college.
I have a Sr also. Very competitive year.
