Hey - I'm a junior at a very competitive high school with a strong theater program (although we're not known for it), and I've been stage managing and working backstage in general there for a year or two now, in addition to assistant stage managing for a professional company. Obviously, I'm not yet sure if that's what I want to do as a career, and I'm not sure I would major in theater in college, but what are schools with well-known theater tech programs? I love to work backstage and want to attend a college with a fantastic theater program that will allow me to learn, get great experience, and have a lot of fun. So basically - what has good theater majors (specifically involving backstage work)? What has good theater productions even if I don't decide to major in theater? Any advice on how to pursue stage managing in college/what would look impressive to future employers?

(In general, my grades/SATs are in the ballpark for a pretty top liberal arts school, although places like HYP/Williams/Amherst are probably reaches. Also, I don't act, so I'm not at all interested in that.)
