Hello everyone! My school doesn’t offer any AP courses unfortunately so I’ve been trying to figure out how I can self-study for some AP exams. This includes AP world history. I have in my possession a standard Glencoe World History textbook that I “think” has a lot of good information and great explanations. I just thought I’d ask how these regular textbooks compare to specifically AP textbooks. I know the college board has a list of recommended textbooks (this one isn’t on there) so maybe I should go ahead and purchase one of those. Thanks in advance!

Is the Glencoe textbook you have used for the regular World History class at your high school? If so, I would definitely not use it to study for the AP World exam. The textbooks used for AP World (as suggested by the College Board) are written at a college-level in terms of vocabulary and depth of content. Also, some textbooks are written specifically to address the AP World History curriculum. If possible, I would purchase one of the ones on the list.
