Stanford 2014 SCEAers

my ^ was referring to snow. . .i think i got a little lost :P

Haha, I was wondering what you meant at first.

Yeah, I know, and that’s pretty much the only downside to Stanford I could find. But, I googled “snow” and “Stanford” when it had occurred to me, and found that students have a once-a-year tradition of heading off to the nearby mountaintop to see the snow! Which is awesome, and I would totally participate in.

Especially since Florida has neither snow nor mountains.

That random decision thing was fun. I got rejected though. As I wrote in the comments, using degrees instead of radians and taking the absolute value of the resulting negative number would have meant an acceptance. Want to change the rules a little, Nitro? jk

Haha, I didn’t even think to switch up the degrees/radians.

I would, however, like to point out that the Beatles are indeed awesome, and that your favorite number is mine backwards, which must mean you are me backwards. Are you my evil twin?

Another reason that California is better than Florida: it’s easy to take day-trips to the snow, and we do so regularly, but we never have to deal with it in our daily lives.

But… But… …Manatees?

Yeah, still jealous.

Hey I pee standing up, I have a deep voice. And I’m gay.

There you go, stereotype shattered.

But… I do like Adam Lambert.

bit of a delay but I thought i’d say mu 2 cents worth on twilight: EWWWWWWWWWWWW. 1. the novel sucks; no offense but meyers is not the best of writers…her style is just so unsophisticated. 2. the plot is terrible, and what makes me the angriest is that it is sooo ANTI-FEMINIST…seriously. all bella does is sit there and yells " edward save me" and 3. robert pattison is soooooo terrible looking. I don’t know what girls find attractive about him.

Snowy… I agree, basically.

I haven’t read the novel. The storyline doesn’t bother me and it’s great for “fast food” reading, but a phenomenon? Really? How did that even happen?

Bella is most certainly the anti-feminist (kind of like the anti-Christ).

Robert Pattinson is not good looking at all. Taylor Whatshisface isn’t particularly good looking in my book, but neither of them are my type.

Yeah Twilight is so aniti-feminist. Why did she make Bella so passive and needy, I’d like to think most women these days are made of sterner stuff and she makes it seem that girls MUST have a guy to survive. Ugh don’t get me started on these double standards in society…lol K I"m done! Lol btw you guys should try Nitro Hawks random decision generator if you haven’t it’s fun!

Wow I’m looking at these post times do you guys stay up all night!?!?! Shoot I wake up around 5-5:30 on school days but on holidays I sleep in, does no one do that anymore lol?

Well, are we in different time zones?

Yeah, different time zones for eg its 12 midnight here now.

Twilight. I have to say (I’m so embarrassed to admit this) but I liked the novels, although I did feel like strangling Bella for being the epitome of damsel in distress. It felt like the early 1900s.

But anyway, I hated the movies. HATED! But I had an awesome time because I just sat with a friend and mocked the movie the entire time. We collapsed in laughter whenever Bella was around Edward.

Ah, fun times. Which is why I’m going to see New Moon, with the same friend.

Ahh true, the time zone thing, didn’t think about that. Hmm how would you guys (guys meaning both boys and girls) respond to this quote “These days it seems a woman has to bring home and bacon and cook it too?” They say by the end of next year women would take over men as being the majority in the workforce. What do you feel should be the new “roles” of a man and woman in a relationship? Like who takes care of the kids, does the taxes, cook, (insert random non-job-outside-the-home related chore), how would that balance out. I would be more for a 50 50 if both parents are working, but how would a couple manage that if their working hours are the same? I suppose on could do the chores one night the other the next…what do you guys think?

I’d say it depends. On what the couple wants. But I’d prefer a 50-50 type of thing.

I’m all for equality. Stand on the bus, women. (kidding)

Hey, so how are we notified on the 15th? Is there really no chance of anything earlier?

I want to be a trophy husband !

Its mentioned earlier in the thread but we all think we’re going to be notified on Dec 11th this year, because Stanford has a history of releasing decisions the Friday before.

Its gonna be thru e mail. That’s just how Stanford does it, I wonder why.

sighhhhhh. anyone watched 2012? it was terrible. 1. the plot was bad 2. it ended up being centered around christianness ending with a bible quote and all( no offense to any christians) and I thought it should have been a bit more secular…perhaps more like the day after tomorrow.

and yes, diivio, I agree. she makes it sound like girls are so wea and need a guy to survive. that makes me SOOOOO angry. haha. like at school once my enligh teacher was like" i need a guy to carry this microwave across the hall" that offeneded me and I told her I would do it. and she insisted no " she needed a strong guy" So. when she she gave to a guy, I snatched it out of his hands and too it myself to prove that girls are not equivalent to poor little weak lost lambs.
