@ballerina16 So it is okay if the scores get sent to colleges after the application deadline?
Score sending time here: https://professionals.collegeboard.com/testing/sat-subject/scores/receive
And oof, I keep changing my mind between EA and RD. Part of me wants to just be able to get it over with, because to an extent there’s not exactly a whole lot of time between them anyways and I think if the subject test was allowed for EA on the October 3 date then I might just wanna do that.
@JustOneDad I was only in FFA freshman year (and I will be in it senior year) because my school isn’t very good at the whole “scheduling” thing… Every single year I had a period missing but I could never fit all the classes I wanted into my schedule. I want to try and get on another judging team (I can’t be on the computers team again since we won state ) but I won’t get any special degrees for being in it all four years.
So, was that “computer applications”?
The computers team? Well, it was a little bit of everything. We had to answer some hardware questions, some application questions (like, use Microsoft Word to do laundry list of stuff) and some stuff about the software.
UCSC is not exactly far if you are considering Stanford, UCB, UCD, and SJSU.
@ucbalumnus Wow, I feel silly. I read that as USC and I was like “you crazy that’s not close-oh wait.” But someone I know goes to UCSC, and she’s told me what it’s like, and I really don’t think that would be the right place for me. I mean, it’s good for some people but it’s not my style.
Yes, but it is school specific. Some schools with November 1 application deadlines even accept November tests. Check each school’s website to be sure.
@skieurope Do you know Stanford’s specific deadlines? The SAT deadline is October but I dunno if that’s the same for the subject tests.
For anybody in the future who may come across this and want to know what happened because they are in a similar situation, I’m going to announce my college results as I discover.
Stanford: rejected
I am so sorry to hear that.
You definitely are a very interesting person with a great character.
Good luck with the rest!
Realized maybe I should update about other colleges here so if people say “omg u have similar stats to me and u didn’t get in where r u goin now” they can get an idea.
SJSU: accepted
SCU: accepted
UC Davis: accepted, along with Regents Scholarship / Honors Program
Last one I’m waiting on a decision from: UC Berkeley!
Your SAT should not hurt you, because schools consider the ACT and SAT equally and consider them to be alternatives to each other. In fact, at many schools you do not have to submit your SAT’s at all as long as you have the ACT. Your ACT score is great.
Last update (for schools):
UC Berkeley: accepted! No scholarships, tho, but still cool to have it as an option
I got $25,600 per year from a Dean’s scholarship and a grant at SCU, but it’s still more expensive than other colleges, so I’m not going there.
I officially accepted UCB’s admission decision! It feels so unreal @.@
