I plan to apply ED for Stanford. Can i still do EA for MIT, etc. EA, ED and SCEA is very confused.
Stanford has SCEA (single choice early action) in which case you can only apply to Stanford. Though, if you receive an acceptance, it will be non-binding. MIT’s EA is not so restricting.
I’m pretty sure if you apply SCEA to Stanford you are allowed to apply to other PUBLIC universities early (as long as they have a non-binding early action policy). So you could apply early to Stanford and UVA if you wanted to. Then if you were accepted/rejected/deferred from Stanford you can apply to all your other schools regular and make your decision May 1st
The Stanford web site is very clear on what is allowed under SCEA. Go ahead and read it.
Wait, colleges have websites now? We are truly living in wondrous times.

It’s restrictive early action, not ED.
