@Sanla124 ha! I have many similarities (if not all) to your background. I love this school and it is life changing for me. My professors are always in awe and not shy about expressing their awe that I am a mom (my youngest just turned 1) and a CS student here. They go out of their way to give me any resources (usually more work lol) that Ian need. They don’t cut me slack in terms of workload or deadlines (and I don’t really want them) but they are emotionally supportive and that’s more than half the battle. Make sure you have rockstar recommendation letters, can back up your had work with your grades and study for the SATs so you can give yourself the best chance possible. And let the real you come through in those essays, don’t be afraid to toot your own horn.
Rejected…
Congrats to all who were admitted
So should transfer students retake the SAT if theirs wasn’t high in hs?
@pinkcloudsonmars and @mjr2013 Congratulations to you both! Wishing you all the best as you adjust to Stanford living this fall!
Congratulations to everyone else who got an acceptance today as well!
To everyone who was rejected today: just keep pursuing your passions, and you will go far no matter what happens in the future! Besides, it sounds like many of you were accepted into other incredible institutions, so best of luck to you there!
As for me, I am personally relieved to have some more time to work on my health recovery and slowly adding additional classes and more work to my schedule again in this upcoming year. There is nothing stopping me from applying again, so I’ll definitely give it another go next year. I’m hopeful that I’ll be healthier by this time next year anyway

@ilikedrpepper I’m sorry I don’t know anything about being waitlisted for transfer acceptance. To my knowledge there hasn’t been a waitlist before.
I would presume it works like any other waitlist process: when someone declines the offer of admission, that offer would be extended to you.
Also, I know that admissions is very limited in the number of offers they are allowed to extend and probably wish they could have just extended an offer to you.
@pinkcloudsonmars just wanted to say thank you for serving our country and your Stanford CS acceptance is well earned!
@Sanla124 I am also a non-traditional (age 37, with a break of 15 years between this academic year and the last time I was enrolled in college), have 3 children, currently low income due to recent financial hardships. Last night I was accepted into Stanford! This came as a complete and utter shock as I received several rejections from slightly less selective schools with far more transfer spots available. So yes, there is definitely hope for you! Possibly more chance at Stanford than anywhere else if going by my results.
@shengineer @LatinaTransfer and @nontradStu1980 Thank you all so much!! Congratulations, it sounds as though you all have amazing stories and Im sure have worked hard!
Welcome @nontradStu1980 ! So great to have more fellow parents!! I will be one of the Transfer Program Asssotants during orientation and I look forward to meeting you!
