Stanford MS Management Science & Engineering

I’m interested in this program and looking for advice on a few things.

  1. Does anyone have experience with the program in terms of what they are looking for?

  2. I graduated with a 3.57 gpa in Economics from a not well known school. I took a practice GRE and got a 163Q 155V without having done any studying. I’ve been doing some searching and can’t come to a consensus on what study tool to use. Any suggestions? Also since my GPA is below the average accepted to the program can a good GRE score make up for that?

  3. How much do extracurriculars and work experience matter for a program like this? Really good undergrad ECs. Currently working for one of the largest foundations in the US as an investment analyst where I focus a lot on Venture Capital (what sparked my interest in this program). I also currently volunteer with a decent sized local nonprofit and I work directly with the CEO on finance and strategic planning issues. My hope is that ECs and GRE can make up for the lower GPA. Is this naive?

If anyone has any other info on the program to share that’d be great.
