Stanford or Harvard??

<p>So I'm deciding between Stanford and Harvard for undergrad. I hope to one day attend Stanford or Harvard Business School.</p>

<p>Right now, I'm almost 100% towards Stanford because I absolutely love the perfect weather, campus, and fun/laid-back atmosphere. Also, I really like the management science & engineering program at Stanford. </p>

<p>For Harvard, I was really disappointed with the campus when I went there and felt the atmosphere was cold and uninviting. But then everyone keeps telling me of all the connections I'll make at Harvard and how it'll be great to live right next to Boston.</p>

<p>So, emotionally, I really want to go to Stanford. But what school will be most helpful in getting me into the best business schools? I already turned down Princeton, but I like Princeton better than Harvard. ugh. now my parents and other people are making me really think about Harvard.</p>

<p>Suggestions? Any insights from former undergrads?</p>

<p>Both schools will give you an excellent opportunity to get into the best business schools. Between Standford and Harvard, you really can't go wrong. Go with where you feel a better fit (which for you seems to be Stanford)</p>

<p>If you want to go to Stanford, go to Stanford. Both schools will provide great opportunities and probably different experiences. Either way, you'll be going to school with the best and the brightest, who will go on to do great things. So while I think Harvard and the top of the Ivy League in general have a very different experience, and that the experience at Stanford can be duplicated at a different college, I think the overall quality of life is better at Stanford. </p>

<p>When I mean the experience is different, I'm talking about the history, the quantness, the Harvard-Yale rivalry, the finals clubs. Things like that differentiate Harvard from other schools. I believe Stanford will be more fun because I've heard that it's hard to find parties and things.</p>

<p>I'd pick Stanford because you seem to like it a lot more. Harvard also doesn't have anything like management science & engineering; although many people change their majors in college, many don't. So it's a legit factor if you seem clear about what you are interested.</p>

<p>welll....so i picked harvard. i think i really need to get out and experience something completely new. i'm really glad i decided to take that leap into the unknown and i'm pretty excited about going to boston. i think boston will provide me a great place to continue my music education as well.</p>

<p>I feel the possible short term shortcomings of Harvard are made up by the longterm dividends.</p>

<p>It probably depends upon where you want to work upon graduation--but let's be blunt--no matter which school you choose, you will have made a great decision. These names will open doors for you in the future regardless of which one you go to. Just pick where you feel most comfortable--and where you think you can be successful and happy for the next four years.</p>
