FWIW, there are Zipcars everywhere on campus and many upperclassmen have cars. The combination of Lyft/Caltrain is easy enough, though.
@LoveTheBard Of course, students have activities around campus. In fact, Stanford probably has more activities on campus to compensate, and athletic events, such as football and basketball games, play a larger role at Stanford than at other schools.
But the OP did express a desire to go off campus, and I’m just letting him or her know, before he or she commits, that it’s not so easy and that travel times are not insignificant. Zipcars didn’t exist back then, so maybe that changes things too.
This was my son’s problem 10 years ago. Since then, he has collected 4 degrees from stanford – two BS degrees, a MBA and a MS in CS-AI + 6 years of experience at google.
