I've been volunteering for a very long time, but it is not school related. Thing is, i'm really passionate about my community, and one of the manager's wants to write a recommendation for me for college. will stanford accept that recommendation letter? even though it's not school/academic related? thus, can i submit 3 recommendation letters (since 2 teacher recommedation letters are required)?

As a general rule, you should probably take 3 or 4 to be your upper limit for recommendations. Colleges don’t mind getting extra ones, so long as you don’t overwhelm them. I sent four recs to all the places I applied and still got accepted.

^STANFORD HATES EXTRA STUFF. with a passion. they warn you over and over and over again to be wary of sending extra stuff.

OP, if you feel that it truly adds a different dimension to you, go ahead. but don’t send more than 3.

^^^ OP, work within Stanford’s standard
framework.
