hahahaha I like this thread.

Ha, Yale Fail, I like that one!

if Yale takes ‘fail’ then maybe ‘bloodbath’ can go to Brown?

^ Yes, good observation! Then we wouldn’t have to revert to associate words.

Brown Bloodbath
Harvard Holocaust
MIT Massacre
Princeton Pogrom
Stanford Slaughter
Yale Fail

…thought it remains to be seen if Brown really has a “bloodbath” comparable to the others.

^Brown should be a bloodbath. The acceptance rate is going to be around 8-9% because applications increased by about 20% this year. I think it may be safe to say that all Ivies will stage mass killings this year.

Might I suggest:
Columbia Carnage (going with the first suggestion)
Dartmouth Decimation
Cornell Catastrophe
Brown Butchery

(not to put down Cornell)

Cornell’s acceptance rate is generous compared to the others’ - will the RD round really qualify as a massacre?

its stil going to be under 8-9%
that qualifies as a massacre… Imagine 100 CCers in a room… only 8 are chosen. and 92 are murdered…

^ Haha! Except that CC is not at all representative of the entire Cornell applicant pool. We’re more qualified on average.

oh. I thought it was around 20%. :$

I dunno. The term “Holocaust” seems to be used so lightly, when it has such a significant meaning for some people.

I vote Crimson Carnage.

I’m EXTREMELY proud to say that I started this madness on the Yale boards… with my allusions to the Stanford Slaughter and MIT Massacre.
So yeah.

The best I have is the Cornell Castration. Because I got deferred ED, I have every right to call it that
:O

Dartmouth Defenestration
Cornell Castration’
Stanford Suicide
Harvard Happiness (hahahahaha ;))
Amherst Annihilation
Penn Pulverization
Princeton Poop-on-your-face
Geneseo Gentrification (my only acceptance so far)
Georgetown Genocide
Yale You-Know-Who-Just-Killed-You

And I agree with cafesimone, Harvard Holocaust/Princeton Pogrom is really unacceptable.
Don’t mock the mass killing of human beings, and never forget that millions upon millions of innocent people were brutally murdered for simply being themselves.
Harvard, at the very least, isn’t going to murder you.

I agree with ChandlerBing. Princeton Poop-on-your-face is absolutely uncalled for. For those of us who have had poop cast upon our faces, it is absolutely not a pleasant incident and can really be rather traumatizing–devastating emotionally and physically. Don’t mock the visage defiling of human beings, and never forget that it could be you one morning waking up to the unpleasant stench of a putrid substance smeared across your cheeks.
Princeton, at the very least, will not poop on your face.

(Sorry, I couldn’t resist…hehe)

THIS IS SO FUNNY!

but sadly, probably extremely true

especially for me :(((((((

lol i’m just rolling right now, arch3r25 you’re hilarious!

Harvard Hyenas (Crimson Cackles)
Princeton Perjury

Archer: I’m just surprised that you decided to talk about poop on your face over castration… might want to get your priorities in order there…

Chandler: All the words used have negative connotations… Genocide= Rwanda and numerous other examples, Massacre= Boston Massacre, I could go on, but the point is that all of the words used are not nice (That is the intention, as what is about to happen to 90+% of the applicants is not nice).

Does that mean that we shouldn’t use a word because of its connotations? As a jewish student, I personally believe that if people can get a laugh from the usage of the word holocaust, then by all means use it. I personally find the name Harvard holocaust to be funny, I laughed.
What happened during the holocaust was a holocaust, a massacre, a bloodbath, a slaying, whatever other word you want to use… for some reason they chose to call it “THE HOLOCAUST”, that doesn’t mean we should stop using the word. People in this thread in no way intended to reference “THE HOLOCAUST” which is different from a holocaust, so stop trying to be so politically correct and just laugh. Everyone knows the Ivy boards already have enough political correctness and uptightness, so just forget about it and LAUGH, because these names are hilarious.
