I suspect they’ll come out next Wednesday the 8th if not today.
They also notified people hours before the decision actually came out last year that the decision was going to be on that day.

didn’t hear anything, and I submitted my app before March 1st.
me neither I wonder why they told people that lol
Yes, that is what I was told by admissions, but I haven’t received an email or seen any change in my applicant portal. Boooooooo.
Hey everyone. I’m a transfer applicant to Stanford this year, and I got in touch with them this morning requesting an early read (the school I got accepted to has its deposit deadline in two weeks). Here’s Stanford’s exact words from the email I got from them:
"Hello,
An announcement will be posted on our website next week, if we are able to release the transfer decisions earlier.
Best,
Office of Undergraduate Admissions"
Like… okay, thanks?
@hoothoot5 have you also tried calling them? Or if you know your regional admissions counselor, try emailing them directly as well. I’ve heard applicants getting more prompt and more specific/non generic response this way. Congrats on your acceptance by the way! Hope you can hear the same decision from Stanford soon!
@spivotal I emailed my regional admissions counselor as soon as I read your response lol. And thank you! Good luck out there!
Update: My regional counselor responded back quick. He said we will get decisions before May 15th.
Can we talk about the type of transfer applicant that Stanford seems to admit?
I have been doing my own research, based on several publications about transfer admits and also from past CC threads. It seems that Stanford has a few things that they deem as a pro.
In no particular order:
Nontraditional students - this includes possibly a traditional student with nontraditional experiences that they expressed in their application (if that makes sense)
Disadvantage students - this includes race, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic status etc
Community college students - I would like to note here, that Stanford seems to only admit a few transfer students (2-4ish) that come from a 4-year institution.
Vetrans
but it seems that the most important aspect is one’s particular intellectual vitality, which comes across through the essays and short answer supplements.
This is just something i wanted to share. (in the midst of writing this, I hope i did not offend anyone)
This Wednesday (8 May) seems to be a safe bet based on recent history. Should be seeing an announcement (tweet or update on the website) on Monday, if that’s the case.
Well, May 8th is my birthday and I have a fortune cookie that says I am going to get lucky, so I am all on board.
Yeah, I am betting on the 8th as well, given their history.
How many transfers have they taken in recent years?
usually about 30
But think 15 males and 15 females. Also, most are veterans/non-traditional students.
@Asifion @heroicacuau half are non-traditional/veterans half are normal aged students from peer schools or other big state schools. Search for: ‘Common Data Set Stanford’ to see raw admissions data for applicants
So nervous !!!
Looks like everyone was correct about May 8th! Now we’ll just have to focus on not losing our minds over the next two days.
Has Stanford officially released the date?
Ah, I meant “most are veterans” as in the percentage compared to Freshman decisions.
