Stanford vs. Harvard vs. NYU-BPE -- HELP!

So I only applied to three schools and I got into all three. Time's running out to decide on which one to attend. I am interested in majoring in international relations with hopes of working on African development projects for French-based non-profits (I'm from the Seychelles).

I have not had the opportunity to visit any of the schools. :( But up until now, I've been leaning toward Stanford. I've heard nothing but good things about the entrepreneurial spirit. In addition, the chance to take PoliSci classes taught by Condoleezza Rice is simply unparalleled. As for NYU-BPE, the program is extremely alluring because I would be exposed to business leaders in the UK and China. Also, I would have a close-knit group of ~50 cohorts.

However, I don't want to close any opportunities simply because I'm less informed about how Harvard can meet my goals. Can anyone impart their experience with Harvard and international relations?

First off, congratulations on making it to such great schools!! Though are cross-admits, not many people nail both coasts simultaneously!

I think the easiest way to settle this is to speak to current students. Personally, I would say go for Harvard for the things you want to do. Stanford and NYU are great for what you are looking at, but when I think International, you must consider Liberal, and what made me fall in love with Harvard after visiting several campuses is its liberalness in thought (I have not applied Stan, but I am sure other kids would have similar experiences).

I have heard from friends that NYU’s strengths are in business. Unfortunately, I am not incredibly sure about any of its other programs. But good luck!!

Thank you for your insight. Ultimately, I decided to enroll at Stanford.

Harvard is the #1 school for international relations in the world. You would have had access to the most influential IR scholars in the world. You would have had the opportunity to take graduate courses at the Kennedy School of Government. You would have been able to do paid research at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs. You would have been able to become editor of the esteemed Harvard Political Review. You would have been able to get funding from the Center for International Development to pursue an internship with a French development agency in Africa.

Oh well. Hope you enjoy the nice weather. :D

You could’ve just said “congratulations” and left it at that. Shoulda, woulda, coulda…but didn’t.

Tied with Stanford (and Princeton):

This was certainly a bitter post… And it’s funny because you never made your case before the deadline. Way to go.
