Is starting a HOSA chapter difficult? I'm a freshman and my school doesn't have any health related clubs or anything. I'm wondering if it's worth it and if it's really hard to start one from scratch.

Or you could share your experience with HOSA :)

Bumppppp :)))))

Oh come on, someone here has to be in HOSA!!

Hey skiingfish I started a chapter at my college! and I love it!
What state do you live in and I could point you in the right direction!!!

@hdquezada

I live in Ohio and I’m a freshman in high school! Could you please tell me about how you started the chapter? Thanks so much in advance!

Hello! HOSA IS AWESOME! At least the competitive events are… It’s a tad too late because HOSA regionals are over now so starting a chapter still wouldnt allow you to compete due to the already started season. For me, States is a little less than 2 months and I’m So excited! If you’re a future healthcare worker then JOIN! It’s a great organization and you could put it on colllege apps/jobApps or whatever! HOSA is amazing. All of it is basically the competitive events so youll have to wait till next year to compete. But join anyway!

Oh im not sure about how starting one works. I think its easy. Just contact Michigan Hosa and talk to them about it. :D

@BranBran

Yeah, I kind of figured it’s too late for competition lol. I plan to start one as early as next school year, I just need the information first. Is it really that easy to start one?

Hellllllooooo? Anyone else? :)

Anyone else want to talk to me about HOSA??

Well I am a two year member, hopefully will continue in college. I’d say if you want to start one just find others (at least about 15 i think) also interested in health and talk to your guidence couselor or health related teachers about it. I think it’d be a great idea, and to be able to say that you STARTED a hosa chapter? Cmon, colleges would eat that up ;)

@Cens10 Thanks for your advice!

I also have a question: should I ask my guidance counselor first or try to find science/health teacher? Because right now I only know one teacher related to health, and that’s my biology teacher. Should I ask other teachers even if I don’t know them really well?

buuuuuuummmmmmppppp

Well if that’s the case where you only have one health-related teacher, then yeah I guess the guidance office. At our school there’s a program for health and all of its classes so I meant if you had any teachers like that, but yeah I think really any teacher would do really… Good luck! :D
