Starting College and transfering to a 4yr University?

I just turn 18 years old and was recently awarded my G.E.D. on March 2013, I want to move to Los Angeles and pursue Acting. (I know it's hard and expensive to move to LA but I want to take the risk) My question is if I want to go to an Acting University in Los Angeles do I have to go to a 2 year College to have a better opportunity to be accepted into a 4yr University such as UCLA? And what should I take in College if I want to go to an Acting University? What are some good Community Colleges in Los Angeles, CA? Is LACC good for Acting for Film/Television or only for theatre? Please, I want to get started in College or University I don't want to wait longer. No mean comments. Thanks!

im not sure if this will help but you can YELP and google reviews for JC’s in LA.

The UCs have a specific list of course requirements you need for transferring; I highly doubt that an acting college would provide the necessary classes. Please see the UC Transfers subforum under this one for details.

I transferred to UCLA so don’t know anything about taking the SAT’s and what not. I also don’t know how it works with a GED. You most likely will need to go to community college first, SMC(Santa Monica College) is a good choice as they have the highest transfer rate to UCLA(However, this might just be a coincidence since SMC is the closet community college to UCLA).

To see what classes you need to take for your specific major, go to [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) and check UCLA’s requirements for the major.

Call UCLA and find out what their Theatre department requires for admission.
