Hi.
I recently contacted a university in Florida about a computer science major and their admission requirements. The requirements for the major included a high level mathematics (Calculus 2, 3 etc..) and other intense courses that are obviously not available to most high school students. I asked the admission office about this and they said students usually are admitted to the university and after two years or so, after they had a chance to complete the prerequisites, would the students be able to study the major.
Is this normal??? I'm really confused. I thought most students go to colleges, expecting to study their major in AT LEAST a year-or earlier.
Can someone help me understand this?

Thanks!
