Starting to freak out (advice needed from NYU students, especially LSP!)

So I know I'm a hard worker, and I always put in the extra hours and complete assignments to the best of my ability. I never procrastinate (I cant relax until all the work is done) and I only miss class when I'm so sick I cant get up. Still, I'm really nervous about not doing well at NYU this fall.

I'm in LSP, can anyone tell me about some of those courses? I've heard Writing One isnt as hard as Writing the Essay, and English is one of my better subjects, so I'm not that concerned there. However, I took AP Bio my senior year, and really thought I did well on the test but only got a 3. I'm kind of freaking out because currently I'm enrolled in the Environmental Studies course, and I dont know if I'll be able to keep up a high GPA. I was hoping to get a 4 or 5 and be exempt from the sciences classes, but now I need to take it for two semesters.

Any advice? Is there any way I can get ahead in learning some stuff I'll need for my first year?

Also, for anyone who has been in LSP, do you feel you had enough time/exposure to other courses to know what you want to major in by junior year?

My advice is to not worry. Just remember everybody is intrinsically just as nervous as you are. Some people just show it more than others. If you asked me if I was nervous about starting NYU next fall in person, I would just play it off like NYU was no big deal. But others are just more “honest” about their emotions I guess.

But a lot of it has to do with which teachers you picked for class. Did you pick good teachers?

I hope so. I looked into all of them on ratemyprofessor.com, but after I picked my courses one of the professors has already been switched and its now listed as “staff”. I have what looks like a really good school week…one class Monday, two Tuesday, three Wednesday (including a lab), two Thursday and none Friday. I just hope I can keep up with everyone else in the class.
