State residency ?

My parents are planning on moving next Fall, which is when I intend on starting grad school (if I were to get in then). I’m from State A (College A) and they want to move to State B (College B). Would I qualify for in-state tuition at both of these colleges, or would I only qualify for in-state tuition for where my parents decide to move to?

I meant to say College B in Boy , Idk why there is an emoji with sunglasses lol

Every state has different rules on residency, so no one can help you unless you name B.

For example, California would charge you OOS tuition for the first year, but you would be considered instate for years 2+.

It’s different with grad school because you may become independent from your parents upon your graduation for tax, FAFSA, and state residency purposes.

Some states consider you a resident for tuition if just one parent lives in the state (Colorado) and it has a long list of ways you can qualify on your own for grad school. Some states require it be the parent who claims you as a tax dependent.

You just have to look them all up.
