I am wondering how the two truly compare. I am wanting a good education and want to attend med school. I have a full ride to the U of Arkansas. And Vanderbilt will cost about 20,000 a year. My parents are willing to pay, but then they won't be able to help me with med school. I realize that Vanderbilt has prestige but what do I gain from it? U of A has a connection with UAMS med school so either way I will be able to become a doctor. Vandy is known for having a very large work load and I don't know if all the extra work is worth it just so I can say I came from a top twenty school. Any information you can give me is helpful. Thank you.

I don’t think it’s worth it if medical school is your definite future.

Vandy can be brutal GPA wise for STEM classes/Pre-med, and you need a great GPA for med school. Plus, going to UArk will likely help you get accepted to an Ark med school.
