statistics

Does Biostatistics count as statistics for math requirement?

i used to think that you could use biomath/biostats as a math course, but people i've talked to say that the courses are usually offered through the bio department. So no i don't think you can use it.

Yes. Biostats is a math course. At st. john's university (in queens) pre-meds are required to take biostats along with calc with bio application. Both are just math courses with references to medicine (eg. stats of people taking medicine vs. those taking a sugar pill). So if a whole school is doing it, i'm sure its okay.

Be careful.

1.) Check what department it's under.

2.) Check to make sure medical schools accept stats at all for their math req - some might not.
