I was wondering if anyone has any information on getting into a master's program in biology at a Cal State. I know the likelihood of getting in will probably vary between different schools. Does anyone know what some good stats would be for GPA and GRE?

I'm a junior at Cal State Fullerton majoring in biology (emphasis in cellular and developmental biology). I'm also getting a minor in chemistry. My gpa is 3.5. I will have 1.5 years of research in a research lab by the time I graduate. I haven't taken the GRE yet. I'm thinking of applying to Cal State San Marcos (CSUSM) and San Diego State University (SDSU) for a master's program in biology. SDSU only looks at the general GRE test and CSUSM only looks at the subject test in either biology or biochemistry. How important is the GRE? I feel confident about the general GRE. I'm really nervous about the subject test in biology though. I'm doing well on the practice questions in cell and molecular biology, but I'm not doing too well in the ecology, organismal biology, and plant biology sections.

It seems hard to get into SDSU as an undergrad. Is it really hard to get in to graduate programs there as well? What about CSUSM or other cal states? Is the GRE an extremely important factor?

I know I asked a lot of questions, so I'm sorry about that. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
