does michigan cover 100% of all demonstrated needs? because as an out of stater, i will need good financial aid, espeically becAUse it costs like 35k per year for everything....

just thought i would post here becuase all you guys already got your stuff..

Neelesh, it depends on your credentials, your need and where you come from. If you are from the US and your SAT/ACT score is in the 1500+ / 33+ range and you need $15,000, you could probably get it. On the other hand, if you have a 1300 on your SAT and/or are an international student, you will probably not get much from Michigan.

i just got back from a week and a half trip to spain (visiting my sister studying abroad) the letter (acceptance or other) probably came when i was there and the post office is holding all my mail. a lot of people said i should call and check my status. i know if it did come while i was in spain i'll get it in a day or two but im just so anxious..what do you think?

if i need an excuse for calling i would also tell them that i was just awarded first team all state for tennis...so that could be like my "reason for calling"

You know Wini, as cliche as this may seem, the straight approach always works best. So, call the admissions office, tell them that you have not had access to your mail for 10 days because of international travel and that you would like to know if they have made a decision. They will ask you for verification (SS# etc...) and chances are, they can give you your answer on the phone...if not at least tell you that the decision was mailed out to you already.Good luck and keep us posted.

2) Date you submitted your application

Septemberish.

3) Date you received your acceptance.

Late October.

Sorry I don't remember specific dates.

Also, my teacher and counselor did their recommendations online, if that's any help. :-P.

And I wrote about Hail to the Victors for my UMich essay. lol.. UMich is one of the few schools I have researched in-depth. Still waiting on Georgetown, though..

Good luck with Georgetown Tlaktan. I too applied to Georgetown and got in (my dad and sister both went to Georgetown) but I opted for Michigan. I believe Michigan is a better university, but Georgetown is awesome too. Great location, very gifted students and great reputation. I would say Georgetown is one of the best places to go if you wish to one day go into Law or Politics.

Two weeks.. still praying Alexandre.. hoping to get in. But Michigan looks very fun too, and I'm leaning closer to it being my immediate choice after Georgetown. But that choice can't come til april, since Georgetown defers, not rejects.

Still keeping the candle burning, though. ;-)

Keep us posted. Georgetown...like the Lord...works in mysterious ways! hehe

Out-of-state, LSA, Submitted mid-October, 1370 SAT, 31 ACT, 3.5 GPA. I'm as shocked as you are.

How late in october did you submit Waffles?

waffles..when did you recieve the letter? thanks

Ok waffles, since i am a bit obsessed with this michigan letter, what state are you from, what was the exact date you applied if you know it, and what day did you receive it

don't scare him away pman! lol

I don't remember the exact date that I submitted my app, sorry. I got my acceptance package on November 22nd (I only know this because I e-mailed a few friends and told them about it the day of, and I have the date marked on my sent e-mails.) The state that I live in is Ohio, but I don't think that UM cares about what state you live in if it isn't Michigan.

Those of you who've been accepted, are you planning to attend?

anyone from jersey get admitted yet?
