Steinhardt Media, Culture, and Communication Major

Can anyone supply any information on this program?
How's the post-graduation (undergrad) employment rate, etc? Success stories of those who graduated as an MCC major?
Difference between Steinhardt's MCC major and CAS journalism?
How hard or easy is it to get into? As a transfer student?

Just ANY information about the department will be greatly appreciated.

I would love to hear more about MCC as well!

I applied RD to CAS Journalism, but your question interested me so much that I decided to do some research for you.

From what I can discern, CAS Journalism is strictly a journalism field of study, with either two concentrations: General and Investigative Reporting or Media Criticism. Journalism majors must also double major in another CAS program.

The Steinhardt MCC program sounds to me like what other colleges might simply call a Communication major, which is not limited to journalism, but also includes other communication topics.

That’s about all I can tell about the differences between the two programs. I don’t quite understand why it is a MCC program in Steinhardt and not a Communication major in CAS. If anyone else has other information, that would be great.
