STEM Exploration Program

Just got a reply. I didn’t get in. Have fun everyone who did!

Did everyone else who was rejected get an application fee waiver? I thought that was a nice consolation prize.

I got a fee waiver also.

Rejected, but no fee waiver.

I got a fee waiver.

I got rejected and didn’t get a fee waiver, maybe because I reported an income of about $100,000. My letter was so vague too; it was a generic letter with the program name just put in at different spots in a different font. It literally said “Best wishes, too, for a very enjoyable summer.” I’m not sure what this means for me as a Dartmouth applicant, I was planning on applying early too… Congrats to all who made it, my friend went last year and she had the time of her life!

Rejected. No waiver. Did anyone get accepted?

Didn’t get in either but got a fee waiver. Oh well, I wasn’t expecting an acceptance since I live in the Northeast and have visited Dartmouth before. It’s more of an outreach program for people who haven’t visited and don’t have the opportunity to visit Dartmouth.

What does it mean if i didnt get a fee waiver?? And if i get rejected from this does it mean i will probably be rejected ED? :frowning: im so sad about this

Fee waiver didn’t have to do with income (I don’t think-I have a high enough income to not qualify for FA anywhere)

I haven’t seen anyone get in yet. Wow.

I got in. Did anyone else here get in?

Congratulations!!

I also wanted to let you guys know the acceptance I got said you are one of 19 so it was a very very small group. I thought Columbia at 50 was small but this one was a lot smaller.

They only accepted 19 people? I thought they usually took around 40-50, going from previous years…

Also, if you don’t my asking @girlcoder, which state are you from?

I got in too. But I thought it was around 50 people…This is what my letter said: “By visiting our campus from October 17 – October 20, you and approximately fifty other high school seniors will have a chance to experience firsthand what Dartmouth has to offer you”.

My son will also attend. He applied to Dartmouth Bound this summer (75 spots) and is happy with the STEM program (50 spots). I bet there are other holdovers from the summer round…

Yes sorry guys I was confusing two different acceptances for different programs to do with Stem. The other has nothing to do with this. They are right its 50 but still that is a very small number and this fly in process has taught me so much about how random it all is. There was a girl who didn’t get into the Harvey Mudd one last year but then got accepted and even great merit scholarship so I would not let this discourage anyone.

Oh and I’m from Chicago and I have not visited the school before. I got rejected from one at a school I HAD visited previously and I’m hearing a lot of people say that with a lot of fly ins.

@archersbow are you saying your son attended Dartmouth Bound and is also attending STEM or had to decline and i now attending STEM?

Did not attend…some people who were not accepted to Bound and some people who could not make it were allowed to express interest in the STEM program. That is what I mean by holdovers.
