Hey! STEM is really intimidating and it seems that it is only for geniuses. Is this true? Can an average person succeed in STEM. I plan on majoring in CS and if anyone has tips on how to succeed in STEM classes such as math,cs, or physics please share them.

STEM varies a lot - the grab bag acronym doesn’t mean they are all the same level of difficulty for a single person or that they even resemble eachother closely, but you don’t need to be a “genius” by any means. Try an intro CS course in college or begin to take one online in high school to get a taste and go from there.
Succeeding in STEM:
- Time management
- Studying
- Working with others
- Make time to review

It really varies. For instance, I loveddd programming, but I wasn’t the best when it came to theory stuff. I just couldn’t compete with the math whiz kids that were always setting the curve. However, this doesn’t mean that I was left in the dust in every course. I vividly remember doing a lab on the first day of my software development class. Nobody (not even the undergraduate TA or the doctoral student TA) was able to figure out the lab. I had called one of the TA’s over to look at my lab and she was amazed by how I had figured it out. I think I was the only one that finished the lab that day, lol. It made me smile. Despite not being as strong as others when it came to math, I felt content knowing that I knew how to program. You don’t need to be a genius to succeed, but if you aren’t naturally talented in advanced math topics and whatnot, you just have to work harder than everybody else.
