Stereotyping by College Major

<p>Now and Laters have got to be a negative calorie food, it burns about five hundred calories just to chew one to digestible softness.</p>

<p>Anyway, about those Latin American majors:</p>

<p>Lily-white, privileged trust-funders trying to understand the class struggle of Hispanics.</p>

<p>Mathematics</p>

<p>jumps into math major just because he/she enjoyed AP calc in high school. Gets screwed by upper-level math classes and decides to change major</p>

<p>Sociology</p>

<p>Well-meaning, kind-hearted, ends up underpaid or unemployed or overworked.</p>

<p>Dance/Movement</p>

<p>I’ll skip the obvious gay and go for…closeted gay. There.</p>

<p>Agriculture.</p>

<p>Wannabe farmers who come from white collar backgrounds because if they came from a farming background they’d just learn from their parents</p>

<p>Turf and Golf Course Management</p>

<p>Way too specific to be a college major. Either the best or worst decision anyone ever made in their life.</p>

<p>Computer Science and/or Industrial Engineering</p>

<p>gets 4 hours of sleep everyday</p>

<p>Political Science</p>

<p>^No, that’s not a real major. It’s a real focus of study within a major called Plant Study.</p>

<p>By the way, it’s really cool that UMD has a program like that.</p>

<p>Yeah but it shows up on the list of majors as its own happy thing so nyah</p>

<p>It is pretty cool I guess… that’s the nice thing about going to a big state school, there’s a boatload of stuff to take.</p>

<p>I go to a bigger state U and they don’t have anything like that. Only sort of normal books and pens majors. I guess there’s some art/dance/theater majors but other than that…</p>

<p>Someone who couldn’t decide what kind of engineering he wanted to study and ended up picking slips of paper out of a hat. :)</p>

<p>Home Economics (this is a real major at some colleges).</p>

<p>Global Health: Someone who bought into the global warming hype. Second bachelor candidate in 2012.</p>

<p>Going to be making lots of money soon :)</p>
