<p>I'm surprised that nobody here has mentioned that Steve Jobs parents went to UW. His father received his PHD and taught at UW.</p>
<p>There was a thread on it here several months back before his health status crashed. His birth mother is very creative/arty and might have passed that on to Steve. Unfortunately her mother’s family did not approve of them marrying when she was pregnant so they gave Steve up for adoption, but married a year later after her father passed and gave birth to his sister–Mona Simpson (“Anywhere but here”). Hard to say what that might have meant later on. Life is funny that way.</p>
