I recently applied to the business school at Stevens Regular Decision. What other schools in the Northeast is the business school comparable to? I have applied to RPI, Rutgers, CUNY Baruch, and NYU Stern. Also, what are my chances of getting accepted to Stevens?
GPA(uw):3.7
SAT:1430
Solid essay
Good EC’s(Treaurer, Officer of another club, High School varsity sports, Family run business)
All Honors classes, 2 AP’s(Calculus AB and Statistics)
The class profile for Stevens is @ https://www.stevens.edu/about-stevens/facts-statistics. Your data puts you “in the mix” at Stevens as you probably fall within the middle 50% band of the last admitted class. Babson accepts a lower percentage of students, but your SAT scores put you in the upper end of their 50% band.
Do you need to play an active engineering role in your family business?

They definitely do. My son just got in with ED1 Computer Science, $19K merit. Others in the past years have posted amounts from $8K to $22K. Per Stevens, about 93% of students get some kind of financial aid. Of course it all depends on GPA, SAT and extracurriculars.
Hi everyone! I was accepted to Stevens with a $24k scholarship to the Quant Finance program. I was also accepted to the Macaulay Honors program at CUNY Baruch, which gives a full ride. My other options are: RPI($23k scholarship) and Fordham($19k Scholarship). I’m leaning towards Stevens but I’m just looking to hear from others.
All great choices – congratulations. Assuming they are all affordable, I’d choose the school that feels like the best overall fit. If you are unsure, I’d go to the accepted student days at your top couple of choices before deciding.
OP, are you going commute from NYC to Hoboken, NJ?
Stevens 2017-2018 COA is (including R & B) ~$70,132/yr, net scholarship of $24K, the COA will be $46,132. ($31,172 w/o R&B). I’m curious as to what advantages does Stevens has over Macaulay Honors program at CUNY Baruch (COA=0!) for a business degree and is it worth anywhere from $31K - $46K per year more?
Baruch is a well respected business school in NYC and has an extensive alumni network in New York City (if you elect to live there after graduation). That is $124K - $184K difference over 4 years, assuming no tuition increases over that time period.
