Stick with quirky/unconventional supplement essay for Brandeis?

I’m not gonna say what I wrote, but it’s weird, concise, and maybe witty/clever? I only fear that admissions staff at Brandeis are going to see it as me not taking it seriously and being lazy about it, though Brandeis is one of my top schools. I heard that being quirky in your supplemental essays is a good way to stand out, but I fear my essay takes it too far for admissions at Brandeis. Should I stick with this essay or no?

I think it may help if you provide a little bit more detail about the essay. What some people may consider “quirky” may come across as normal to some, offensive, immature, refreshingly different, boring, etc to others.

If it makes you feel any better, my essay for Braneis was definitely indeed “odd”. As long as it captures you and your personality, is well-written, and answers the prompt without offending anyone, I think you’re fine.

Mine was pretty run of the mill to be honest. I chose the prompt about why I wanted to attend then talked about all the ways I would fit in (small size/community but near a large city, nice people, study-focused/less sports oriented, etc)

@gagdude @HPhelpbot123 would either of you be willing to read it to make sure it doesn’t come off as just plain dumb? If you can’t that’s fine.

I think Brandeis is going to see some pretty creative essays this year and I give them props for not having extremely boring prompts like some of the other colleges. Go with quirky as long as you’re happy with it.
