Still confused about the Applied Economics and Management program

AEM is tougher to get into than Stern, correct?

yes, thats a fact

how would you know? I never even heard of AEM or whatever the hell it was till I saw someone here mention it

Would there be an overlap of courses between these 2 majors? I'm applying for Econs at the CAS, but I'm just worried that I may change my mind later on.. is it easy to do a college transfer in Cornell?

can i get admitted to hotel school and then transfer to AEM?

i would rather have arts/sciences econ than aem, i feel like u will get the same opportunities, and a more well rounded and versatile education

bball, you are incorrect, if you want to go into a career in finance, AEM will make you more prepared - but that is only if you want to go into banking, consulting, etc.. AEM is much more practical, econ is more theoretical.

sports, u are telling me than my opportunities would be limited as an A&S Government/Econ major than if i was an AEM Major

I want to go to law school, but do a stint w. consulting first

definitely not limited at all..you will have great opportunities regardless...i was just saying that if you know you want ibanking or some other field related to finance.you will get a better foundation for these career paths in AEM as the material is much more practical and applicable. Most of what you learn in econ is too theoretical. I was in arts and sciences originally and then transferred to AEM because of this.
