Still have a chance?

So I’ve applied to Cal Poly SLO early decision, and was wondering your thoughts on if i make ED or non ED. I applied last year and got accepted (to non ED) but I am now working in Istanbul, Turkey teaching English and doing computer work for a church down here. Sadly, Cal Poly doesn’t accept deferments (sucks). But here are my stats:

GPA- 3.82 (not weighted)
ACT- 26
Major- Computer Engineering
College classes- 5

Lots and lots of community service hours
Also took 5 engineering classes in high school (which I listed)

I have no idea how I got in the first time! Hoping I can still get in the second, its listed on the application status that I was accepted last year which is awesome. But what do you guys think? Still a shot? I’m guess the ED is a no go. Do you think I could call their Admissions office and tell them what I’m doing, like a gap year type thing, and maybe it could help?

Thanks!
Michael

Are you a transfer student or a high school student? Well either way You’re gpa is good and your ACT score is ok. I say you have a 60/40 chance  Slightly more if you are a transfer student…

No, I’m a high school student, well was I guess, haha. I’m on gap year now. But thanks! haha gives me a lil hope still!

i think you have a 50-50 chance, because your gpa is good, whereas your act score is average. but since your workload seemed rigorous, you might have a good chance!
