Hi all. I sent my midyear grades like 2 and a half weeks ago, but McGill still says they haven't received it. Other schools have. Is anyone else experiencing this and is it normal?

I sent my high school transcripts in early January and Minerva still does not list that as having been received.

it took them almost a month, but they finally recieved my midyears... hang in there, they will get them eventually

I just called them (twenty. minutes. of hold music.) and they told me that even though I sent my midyears a month ago (from Hawaii) there is still a chance they haven't found them yet in their office. She said it takes them about three weeks from the time they arrive in the office to when they're recorded on Minerva. She told me if they still hadn't marked it as received by the end of next week I should try again.

Oh, the wonders of bureaucracy.

What do you mean they haven't "found" them yet?

And they STILL haven't received my reports!

"What do you mean they haven't "found" them yet?"

A lot of paper goes flooding into that office. It has to be opened and sorted and filed and usually put into a computer database before it's ever looked at by someone making an admissions decision. Nobody lost yer transcript or anything, don't worry.

my son got an email from mcgill today stating they hadn't received his mid year report & they need it. it was sent 3 weeks ago from nj.

try faxing it in

There are a ton of factors as to why Minerva hasn't processed your Mid-years yet. First off, it's mostly because of where you live. Plus, if you're from the US, it has to go internationally, though I heard McGill picks up its US mail from NY or something. Secondly, since it's around this time of year that most schools are sending out their students Mid-years many schools will spend up to weeks processing, so this could also be another factor. While many other schools may have already received your Mid-years, it just depends on the efficiency as well as how many students apply, so you have to take this into consideration. And if you're really worried, just call McGill and ask them to try and help you, though I'm not sure if this will help you much...

I live in Massachusetts and it took McGill over 4 weeks to process my Mid-years (including the time from when my school sent it) so don't worry, you'll hear back soon! Plus, most schools with reply within a week of receiving your Mid-years unless you're missing other forms and information.

They just posted the mid years are in! Funny, a few hours after they said they didn't have them. i guess they crossed in the office.
