I’m still waiting as well and I only got into UCR so far… uuuurg.
And no TAG anywhere else.

I’m taking 20 units this semester to meet the 60 unit threshold, i havent heard of any problems with that… and I knew someone who did it too… but i suppose 20 vs 26 is 2/3 class difference.

Yeah I am taking 19…

so when they say the 20th do they mean at like 12 am? haha.
i TAGed as well, but its not official till its OFFICIAL you know? i just want to KNOW so i can accept it and start lookin for places to live =]

haha @alanav09 I feel the SAME exact way

@ nero103- do you have a reason for saying that? I mean do you actually know that or are you just assuming that? I am taking 26 units this semester as well but I need 24 in order to meet the transfer requirement.

@hopingforltr- usually UC’s want you to have at least 30 semester units completed before you apply.

24 units that they wont see untill they admit you. 24 units a semester surely is not a standard load. why would they assume that you would pass or ace them?

because the standard load for one semester is between 12-18 units.

asphyxiac - Don’t worry about the 26 unit thing! I’m in 26 units too. What the UCs I got accepted to did was give me a transfer condition saying I’m admitted as long as I get Bs in half of them, Cs in the other half. They’ll probably do the same for you. :)

no where!

3.1

Davis SD(tag) SB(tag) Irvssss(tag) River

Biochem/ Chem

raacheeel, I’m in the same situation now with Davis, similar GPA and with TAG approved. Good luck to you.

PoopNukem - likewise! im scared as fuhhhh

i dont wanna spend anymore years in CC because of the increase in GPA requirements -_____-

Nero103- Well they see that I took 16 units last semester and I received all A’s in them and that is while I had an internship, and belonged to like 4 clubs. So hopefully they will think I am capable vs. someone who will just have my parents pay so I can fail out of everything : /

Pinoiako- I had 36 completed when I applied and explained why I was coming up a bit short.
Engineeringgirl- Awesome I hope that they do that for me too!! ( thanks for the hope)

ps. I have not yet heard from any schools and I applied to Berkeley, Davis, and Santa Cruz! But I am excited to find out only 9 more days tops ! : D

I’ve only heard back from one school (UCD) and that was today haha… BUT i did get accepted and It is one of my top choices so that was good. I still am waiting for UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB

did you tell them that you are confident that you will pass your 24units? if not, they might not see it. you know how many minutes they spend on an application? I dont know but it’s not a lot, so as along you told them and supported it with evidence, you are good.

@belkster
Omg, the first time i found someone in such similar situation as i do! We have same major, exactly the same GPA, no TAP/TAG, and in fact I haven’t heard from those schools you listed either. Hope this makes you feel better:)

@engineeringgirl

Yeah, so far my UC conditions are to pass all of my current classes with a C. Shouldn’t be an issue, so hopefully I’ll hear back from UCI and UCSD soon!

If I don’t get accepted anywhere else, I’ll just hang back at CC for another year, I guess - hold out for UCLA/Cal next year when I have every major pre-req complete.

I don’t think the units thing should to be too much of an issue. I’m a one year transfer, but I had 43 units at the time of application and 54 after the winter update. With only 6 units til I hit the 60 mark, it shouldn’t matter that I chose to take 26 units. If I’m not accepted, I’ll appeal based on positive GPA change/completion of pre-reqs.
