<p>My daughter was just accepted to UP Summer 2012. Status changed right after midnight. Picture was and still remained UP. Our neighbor, her BFF, was also accepted Summer 2012 at the same time (a little after midnight) her picture also remained UP. There stats were almost identical. I am excited for both girls and now we need to look into it a little more. Good luck all.</p>

I am almost sick to my stomach with anticipation for her. i am not mentioning the change for a day at least to give it time and then i will let her check it. The anticpation is a killer.</p>

<p>Called admissions, asked what I can do, so they could see what my GPA got to last semester. They said to send an appeal, with a written letter and new, updated transcript for reevaluation…</p>

<p>so i guess you could say that i applied pretty late. (jan 7th) within about a week i got the decision will be posted when one is made status. i’d say my stats are pretty good excluding my standardized testing. they’ve never been my strong point. I have a 4.38 WGPA, ranked 24 of 350 (6%), but got a 26 on the ACT and a 1780 on the SAT. i’m pretty active in my school and have the highest leadership position in my band (drum major leading about 125 kids). i am out-of-state living in virginia. also, i’d say a pretty strong essay as well. i applied to university park majoring in international politics. anyone else apply around this time? is it really going to take them till spring to decide? what’s the longest someone has had the “when one is made” status?</p>

<p>I might be the odd one out, but I got accepted when the picture turned into a dreaded lion, no UP. I thought I wasn’t going to get in, but by some miracle I did. My stats: </p>

<p>There is hope for all of you, and if you get rejected, then don’t look down upon yourself. By the way, I got my decision via mypennstate 3 days after the coming days status, and the letter arrived 2 days after the decision was made. Good luck everyone! One more piece of advice I would give is if you get rejected, make sure you call them up. My friend got rejected into UP, but he called penn state and switched his major to the Division of Undergrad Studies (basically an undecided major) and they looked at his app again and he got accepted this time. You can always switch into your desired major after taking your core (you’re taking the same classes as everyone else) and as long as you keep your gpa up. I’m still in shock I actually got in, it hasn’t really sunk in yet…</p>
<p>I was shocked to see my letter from them - they couldn’t put me straight through to main, but they offered me a choice of starting at one of their branches. It’s still bothering me because my grades and SAT exceed their requirements - My GPA is a 3.75, SAT is 1850, plus I’ve taken honors and AP courses with a good amount of extra activities plus leadership positions. I applied for undecided business. </p>
<p>it threw me off because Pitt accepted me quickly as well as St. Joesph’s and I was infinitely more nervous for those schools as opposed to Penn State.</p>
<p>alyssa- Admission for Smeal are more competitive because there are limited places in that program. You have other great choices so no worries!</p>

<p>I’m surprised they didn’t take you, did you ask for summer session? And I think Pitt and St. Joes is a bit less intimidating than PSU to be honest. I got into Pitt pretty fast too.</p>
<p>I’ll probably get my decision tomorrow. Not expecting much though, good luck to those still waiting!!</p>
