<p>Brillar, you are not quite right about Dickinson being rural--it is in the charming town of Carlisle--cute downtown, with shops, restaurants, etc just steps from campus. The Appalachian Trail is very close by, but so is Harrisburg (20-25 minutes), which is, of course, the state capital, with all the mainstream shopping a college kid would need.</p>

<p>Dickinson should definitely not be ruled out because of its location--it's actually the best of both worlds.</p>
