<p>Brillar, you are not quite right about Dickinson being rural–it is in the charming town of Carlisle–cute downtown, with shops, restaurants, etc just steps from campus. The Appalachian Trail is very close by, but so is Harrisburg (20-25 minutes), which is, of course, the state capital, with all the mainstream shopping a college kid would need.</p>

<p>Dickinson should definitely not be ruled out because of its location–it’s actually the best of both worlds.</p>
