OP, no one is saying you can’t get in to the schools you listed in your original post. The thing is, those schools aren’t shoe-ins for ANYONE, unless you’re hooked and have the same stats (or, in UNC’s case, you’re IS). A safety school should be 100%. Include two schools that you wouldn’t mind going to, to which you will definitely be admitted. Others have suggested state schools, which is a good idea for anyone. Not only would you be accepted for sure, but you probably wouldn’t end up paying a penny. You shouldn’t be so closed off to the possibility of not going to a “name brand” school, because state schools are often smarter options financially. Again, I’m not saying you won’t get in at any of the schools you posted (you likely WILL get in at a few), but those safeties are crucial. You need insurance.

I got my SAT II’s back. For Math II I scored a 780 and Bio E I scored a 700. My school’s IB class is divided into plants for 1 year and human physiology the other so the test was really hard cause some of the stuff I’d never seen…not even in my frosh bio class.

With these scores in mind, what are my chances for Brown PLME, Columbia ED, Harvard, Duke, Vassar, Pomona, Northwestern, Tufts, UMich and ASU Barrett?

Chances dont change to much. Sat subject tests really don’t matter that much as long as you get 700+. Bio might raise a concern but nothing signifcant.

Stats: your SAT and ACT are bad. You should try to improve them if you can. But then again you don’t seem like too much of a test taker which is fine as long as you can communicate your intelligence in other ways. GPA is good but I think you did the weighted wrong. You only add 1 extra point for an AP, Honors, and IB HL (IDK what to do about SL but it definitely doesn’t deserve another full point) Also for AP equivalents of the IBs it should go like this
HL
History - APUSH + 1/10 to 1/5 of AP World
English - APLAC + AP Lit
Bio - all of AP Bio plus a few more subjects

SL
Math Studies - part of AP Calc AB (roughly 1 college quarter of calc) and part of AP Stats
Physics - AP Phys B
Spanish - A majority of AP Spanish lang

Your ECs are ok but nothing too good. You don’t stand out within the context of your state or the country. As for your “awards”, the only real awards you have are the NMS, AZ state awards, top chair, and ears 4 the arts. All around not super impressive.
I can tell you are a good student and you try your best to do well, but that doesn’t mean you’ll get into the schools you want to. None of the schools you listed are even a match (except for maybe vassar but IDK about them). All are reach or high reach.
Sorry to disappoint but this is what your list should probably look like

Reach: ASU Honors college, Pitzer, some UCs, maybe some lower level LACs, UNC, Vassar (I think), NYU?
Match: Occidental, Lower UCs, NYU?
Safety: ASU, AU, other easy schools

^
This was all my initial reaction. Then when I read about your family situation, I am getting more iffy on what I though earlier. Still all the schools you listed are probably way out of your reach, but that doesn’t mean you’ll be rejected everywhere. Really, it all depends what you did for you family because of the whole rough patch. If you didn’t do anything to help (ie baby sit siblings while parents at hospital, get a job to help pay for treatment, etc.) then life handed you a bad set of cards and you basically gave up. In that case, my earlier position would stand. But if you tried to do something about your family’s medical situation, then you have a much higher chance at getting into schools if you can communicate it on paper. It shows more maturity and ability than any SAT test can show.

All in all, best of luck to you!

i would say that Brown PLME, Columbia ED, Harvard, and Duke, are reaches (but definitely try to get all your test scores up!)

i think that that’s the one thing that you can do that will increase your chances the most (or, i guess the thing that’s holding you back right now)

also, Vassar, Pomona, Northwestern, Tufts, and UMich i think are low-mid reaches, again, until you get your standardized test scores up, so definitely work on that this summer!

unfortunately, i’m not really familiar with asu barrett, but you’re above the 75th percentile ACT-wise for the university as a whole [and you’re in-state], so I would assume that it’s a safety.

overall, work on those tests and good luck!!
